Actress Ino Menegaki dressed as a High Priestess used a concave mirror to focus the sun’s rays and then light the torch which she then passed onto Spyros Gianniotis, a 32-year-old Liverpool-born swimmer, who won a silver medal for Greece. The torch will now travel to London.

Hundreds of thousands of animals languish in cages in zoos around the world. Denied everything that is natural and important to them, these animals often express their frustration and loneliness through obsessive, repetitive and even self-destructive behaviour such as pacing, head-bobbing and self-mutilation.
